Sewing the Stash Outfit

OUTFIT IDEAS
Jacket, scarves (one same as jacket one contrast), earrings, facemask, 3D pockets on bottom of palazzo pants-solid t-shirt same contrast as color of solid color pants

All the fabric I use does not come from G Street Fabrics, where I work.....  I also have a Spoonflower shop and this is one of my fabric designs.... This is printed chiffon- I will make one of my freeflowing jackets out of this...

Along with the regular freeflowing jacket I made a scarf, scrunchie and earrings plus mask

Matching earrings and mask from the same fabric.

My favorite mask pattern has a filter pocket.  I will write the next blog when I make the matching masks for the next outfits.

Earrings are our covered buttons from G and I buy the earring backs in bulk, and the elastic adjustable ties.

Scrunchies from the same fabric, I use a black hair rubber band and just fold over the fabric and topstitch fast and easy.

These two yellow fabrics came from GStreet Treasure Hunt Room.... I am going to make flowing pants with these and a Flowing simple top for over the pants...

Stay tuned for finished examples

I will make the two layer legs and then attach the waistband

I made the waistband as usual and the tie from the two layers in thin strips folded in twice and top stitched.  The waistband pieces cut from both fabrics, topstitched together and then folded over the 3 elastic pieces and sewn in rows as usual.  The tiecord of the same fabric is then pulled though the keyhole in the middle row so you can tie it tighter if you wish.

the two layers of yellow I first found are cutout as usual with the thinner layer being the pants pieces that will end up on top.

Pants pieces of the lining sewn together fronts and backs and finished inside seams on first the lining then the sheer and then sew the pocket pieces together  so they will be attached as one piece for front and one piece for back on each side.   Once they are attached to the front two pieces and the back two pieces this will keep the front attached to the back on both sides.

Then you will sew the legs seams separately on both the fronts and backs so they will flow when walking.  The top edge of the pants will also be stitched around the waist to be attached to the waistband.

The only thing that will be flowing separately will be the legs below the pockets as they will have their side seams joined each separately.

The true challenge here will be to have my lovely pockets in the side seams. but still allow the two layers to flow as I walk.   I believe I have to sew th pants legs but then insert the pockets into the side seam of both layers together.   Then I will attach the waistband, but hem the legs separately so they will flow as I walk... These yellow pants will go with many of my special own prints that have spots of yellow in them.   I think I will maybe make some fabric flower pins in the shape of the flower that is yellow on each fabric top individually.

Flowing Palazzo 2 layer pants.

While I am creating the flow I am thinking how cool it would be to attach 3 dimensional flowers to the pants.

This is the first pocket to be added to the bottom of the lovely flowing palazzo pants

One of my fabrics on Spoonflower chiffon:

First I cut two of the same view of the flowers, second one for the
back of the pocket the mirror image, sew outline stitch freeflowing tab on machine.  One little piece of flat batting between pieces so it would be 3D feeling.  Now I just need to do one for each blooming flower jacket at the bottom of the hem and the pants can be worn with each jacket for a couture complete set.   I think it works.  Each pocket sew on by hand with top open so they are pockets.  The bottom of the palazzo pants will be a 3D flower garden of each of the Jackets blooms.

I decided I wanted the appliqued pants to go with anything, so I am going to use the flowers from the scraps of the freeflowing jackets I made from my personal spoonflower fabric and I found a 3rd yellow fabric from my stash bin that is very very lightweight but sturdier poly, so I will applique this pants and make them with a single elastic waist but still the same palazzo pants pattern and then I can just pull to over the flowy sheer pants and have the flower appliques flow without limiting the yellow pants to one jacket.

Sew, many of you know that I may have used a pattern base for years, but each time I add something that is my unique style.

Each time things are an experiment, so until the end, I can't be sure how it is going to come out.  The above picture of yellows are very light weight, not chiffon. the sheerest is the weight of a cotton voile, but drapey, so it could have poly or rayon in it.  It is delicate and full of lightweight drape... Both of these came out of my stash bins and very close to the same color.  The second fabric that I am putting behind this feels like tricot, but is lighter weight, so probably poly.

Step one, cut out the pants out of both fabrics and then sew the fronts of one fabric together and the fronts of the second lining fabric together.... then the same for the back pieces and finish the seams because they are so lightweight they might fray, run or pull.
